Capacitive membrane switches are a new type of switching product. Both in terms of product structure and manufacturing materials, they differ significantly from traditional switches. These switches are lightweight products, utilizing materials that are equally light and thin, such as films, double-sided adhesives, and spring contacts. Additionally, the operational principle of this switch differs from other conventional types; a brief introduction follows below.

Glossy Surface Film Switch
The primary working principle of capacitive membrane switch products relies on the coordinated interaction between the circuit and the spring contacts. The circuit of the switch is composed of conductive silver paste and a thin film, making the underlying mechanism relatively straightforward. Conductive silver paste exhibits excellent electrical conductivity. Through a printing process, the silver paste is applied onto the thin film in a precisely patterned arrangement. Subsequently, equipment is used to dry the moisture within the silver paste, forming conductive traces that effectively function as wiring—enabling both directional current transmission and signal transfer. Meanwhile, the metal spring contacts play a crucial role by controlling the on/off state of current flow within the circuit, thereby ensuring that the device's functionality remains fully controllable. This, in essence, represents the core operational principle of the switch product.
The main features of the membrane switch include:
① Compact and lightweight: Typically, membrane switches weigh anywhere from a few grams to tens of grams, with a thickness of about 1 mm. They are highly portable and easy to assemble or disassemble.
② Beautiful Design: Film switches are custom-made products, allowing for customized designs of patterns and text. Combined with advanced, fully automated silk-screen printing technology, they can perfectly meet the requirements for on-demand customization.
③ Excellent sealing performance: By employing various materials and technologies, the membrane switch can achieve functions such as water resistance, oil resistance, contamination protection, anti-static interference, and high- and low-temperature resistance.
④Excellent Conductivity: The circuitry of the push-button switch can be printed using carbon paste, silver paste, copper foil, or other materials (FPC/PET/PCB circuits). Additionally, the conductive layer can be freely folded, and its resistance can be precisely adjusted to meet your specific requirements. Moreover, thanks to our proprietary technology, the membrane switch can even withstand high-voltage electrical shocks of up to 100,000 volts without compromising its functionality.
⑤Low cost: Some film switches are priced as low as a few cents each. For a multifunctional electronic product, their price advantage makes them worthy of consideration for use.
⑥ Long service life: The materials used in membrane switches exhibit excellent insulation properties, heat resistance, flexibility, and high resilience. Additionally, the patterns are printed on the reverse side, ensuring that the silk-screened designs remain undamaged throughout their lifespan. As a result, membrane switches typically last for more than three years. Currently, most circuits utilize dome switches to provide the pressing function, enabling switch actuations of up to 1 million cycles or even higher—sufficient to meet the demanding requirements of the seed production industry.
The membrane switch itself is compact in size. As a customized product, it needs to be integrated with various instruments to achieve different control functions. The panel of the switch can be silk-screened with diverse functional patterns or text. In addition to the standard membrane panel, we can also fabricate the circuitry directly onto the switch based on the principles of circuit control, resulting in an integrated panel-and-circuit membrane switch.
